Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 August 2026

1. Who we are

Oga Boss is a Nigerian business that provides software to help merchants respond to customer enquiries, manage conversations and orders, and recover stalled sales across supported communication channels. In this policy, “Oga Boss”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Oga Boss. This policy applies to our website at www.useogaboss.com, our products, and related support or messaging services.

2. Information we collect

We collect information that is necessary to operate, secure, and improve Oga Boss. Depending on how you use the service, this can include:

  • Merchant account and business information, such as your name, business name, contact details, product information, sales policies, delivery information, operating preferences, and subscription details.
  • Customer and conversation information that a merchant chooses to connect to Oga Boss, such as contact details, messages, enquiries, order details, payment status, delivery status, and support history.
  • Technical and usage information, such as device and browser details, IP address, pages viewed, product events, referral source, and error or performance data.
  • Information you provide directly, including forms, onboarding answers, requests for support, feedback, and communications with our team.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide and operate Oga Boss, including to create and manage merchant accounts; respond to and organise customer conversations; prepare orders and payment requests; send service communications; provide customer support; prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents; understand product performance; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Where a merchant has enabled an automated workflow, Oga Boss processes the relevant business and customer information on that merchant’s instructions. A merchant is responsible for ensuring that it has an appropriate lawful basis, notice, and consent where required for the customer data it connects to Oga Boss.

4. Messaging and communications

Oga Boss may integrate with services such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and other supported business channels. Messages are processed to provide the service requested by the merchant. Messaging through Meta services is also subject to Meta’s terms, policies, and applicable messaging-window and template rules.

We do not use Oga Boss to make a payment-confirmation claim based only on a customer message. Where a payment flow is activated, payment confirmation should be based on a verified payment-provider event.

5. Payments

Where payment functionality is activated, payments are processed by third-party payment providers, such as Paystack. Oga Boss does not store full payment-card details. We may receive transaction references, payment status, amounts, and related records needed to operate the relevant service, manage billing, resolve support issues, and maintain financial records.

6. Service providers and sharing

We use carefully selected service providers to operate Oga Boss. Depending on the feature used, these may include:

  • Meta, for supported business messaging and related platform services.
  • Supabase, for hosted database and application data services.
  • Vercel, for website and application hosting.
  • Paystack, where payment services are activated.
  • OpenAI, where an AI-assisted response feature is enabled.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect the rights, safety, or security of Oga Boss, merchants, customers, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets. We do not sell personal information.

7. International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you live or operate. When this occurs, we take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate to the nature of the processing and applicable data-protection law.

8. Data retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information. No internet service or data-storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use strong passwords and protect access to your business accounts.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or objection to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have a right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Merchants can contact us about their account data; customers should normally contact the merchant they interacted with first, as that merchant is usually responsible for the customer relationship and the instructions given to Oga Boss.

10. Children

Oga Boss is a business service and is not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the service.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our products, legal requirements, or data practices change. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
